Saturday 11:00 to 17:00
Sunday 12:00 to 18:00 at

RadiceTimbrica Theatre - Via Volturno 19 - Legnano (Mi)

This laboratory use the research on improvisation and butoh dance movement as a path of both artistic and personal growth to explore and learn about the subtle energies that govern the inner states, emotions, desires and their manifestations.

E 'work on energy and presence through a dance that becomes a moving meditation. In fact listening

the body, the breath, in the simplicity and purity of gesture is the essence of dance, a dance is not flashy, a bridge between an inner world, with its landscapes and memories, and an outer world, which is chaotic and noisy hard to stop.
today, in fact, it is increasingly difficult to remain silent, everything is sound, noise and perpetual motion that he can never find a moment of waiting, parking, everything happens faster and faster and getting used to the body surface (and mind) to return to automatic increasingly sophisticated and less conscious.
Butoh can open a window on another world, intimate, which involves listening, stillness, waiting, silence creation. A world in which the body is naked, stripped of technical and superstructures listening and silence do not always carry the body to follow physiological pathways and "natural" in the movement and dance, and sometimes they open it to discover the landscapes and interiors were unusual.

Each meeting will be divided into two parts: The first part of
physical training
A second part of technique and dance on images and search around the "motivation and need for an act

explore multiple body states and energy dynamics in order to acquire awareness and presence, and leaving out the poetry of our personal inner landscapes and characters. "

The workshops are open to all, dancers, actors and musicians.
The work is particularly recommended for social workers, educators, teachers, psychologists and educators as it facilitates contact with the creative self by providing deep support for both the act of performing both the educational relationship and / or therapeutic.

"An incredible journey to 'inner self.
I found this seminar very interesting and personally I felt proud of channel development in a creative-expressive.
I think it's a way to not only learn different techniques from other cultures, but also to perfect the 'art of' creative improvisation as instantaneous. "(SB)

" very positive impression, concentration in the body to feel more 'levels starting from the ground up to standing position. I was very intrigued and impressed the attezione or rather, freedom in its attention to the body, trying to move or not according to the canons of the established structures during growth, but its breaking these patterns and leaving me free, knowingly, in 'expression body. Thanks again for
the wonderful experience and awareness that you have given us. "(MM)

" It may be surprising to hear that the Butoh might well be asleep in your body. My job is to find ways to revive that Butoh, that life. I must stress that although the Butoh can be asleep in each, may not be accessible to all. If you can dance Butoh or not depends on whether the body contains the desire, regret, pleasure and interest in life, along with life experiences and memories (the habits of the body are a type of memory). Furthermore, since the Butoh form of expression, should be able to make this term and be responsible. I do not care who sees Butoh as a kind of exotic show of strange and bizarre gestures and movements studying Butoh with the idea to learn the manual way, as Butoh is an ineffable kind of behavior produced by the body itself. Has neither name nor form. Ignore what is already in the body and deal with external aspects of the body is equivalent to harness the body as a means of expression. This is very far from the spirit of Butoh. Those aspects are the ordinary people, people who can share the joy and pain of living. I do not expect the fanatics of Butoh, Butoh as they yearn for originality, nor the rigorous professional dancers, whose pride is hanging on the edge of the conventional technique.

After the warm-up exercises we will work with the attention Instant Composition the relationship between choreography and improvisation, composition, looking at ideas such as drawing in space, theme and variation, length and arrangement. In particular, we consider improvisation as a tool for the performance of the group, not only to generate the kinetic material.

Short exercises will begin the process of creating a performance together through improvisation, defining a specific conceptual framework, challenges and providing basic skills.

free lance performer; has been dancing with MAGPIE and Katie Duck for more than ten years and received his early training from artists such as Erick Hawkins, Alwin Nikolais, Meg Harper and Sharon Kinney. He is a Senior Lecturer and Program Leader for Dance at The Manchester Metropolitan University.

Marcella fanzaga: The exploration of prevertebral movement patterns and the relationship between hands and central axis as a base to open the body and the mind to listen, perceive, sense and be available and ready for the creative act.

Vincent Cacialano: In this workshop we will approach moving and composing from the inside out, focusing on Improvisation as a tool for greater awareness and option. We will begin with a technical warm up, utilizing both floor and standing work, that focuses on body integration, weight placement, stamina and clear initiation of movement. The warm up involves set and improvised exercises and varies in intensity from the very simple to the complex. It focuses on how basic movement patterns set the framework for more complex understanding. After the warm up we will work on Instant Composition exercises that focus on the relationship of Improvisation and Choreography, looking at compositional devises such as design, theme and variation, duration and arrangement. The approach to Improvisation specifically looks at Improvisation as an approach to performing in ensemble, not only as a tool for generating movement material.

Short exercises will initiate the process of creating ensemble dance pieces through improvisation, setting up a specific conceptual framework, offering challenges and basic skills. From these basic composing skills we will venture into more complex and longer improvisations where the basic ground work we have set up is challenged by the extreme possibilities and options that Improvisation allows.
